As part of the Work Programme 2021, ENISA is developing a study “Remote Identity Proofing Practices: Attack Scenarios". In the study, we analyse methods of remote identification against government-issued ID, attacks on these methods, from changes of physical appearance to deepfakes, and least but not last, practical countermeasures.
In this workshop, we will:
- showcase some remote identity attack scenarios,
- discuss the attacks and countermeasures, both now and in the future,
- validate general direction and key aspects of the report.
The workshop is aimed at industry (with focus on EU remote identity tech. providers), identity providers, relevant public bodies, academia and other interested parties. In the first block, we’ll present some actual threats and discuss them. In the second block, we’ll focus on future threats and countermeasures on how to keep online remote identification safe in the years to come. Detailed agenda will be provided to all registered participants beforehand.
